TransGroup’s Susan St. Germain of TransProject LLC Named ‘2011 Woman Business Owner of the Year

TransGroup Worldwide Logistics is very excited to announce that Susan St. Germain of TransProject LLC has been named the ‘2011 Woman Business Owner of the Year’ by the Houston chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). Susan was among 10 finalists nominated to receive the recognition and deservedly took home the gold on October 27th, 2011 at the 18th Annual Woman Business Owner of the Year gala in Houston, TX.

TransProject LLC is the heavy-lift group within TransGroup. TransProject LLC specializes in domestic and international large scale project shipments, including wind blades, turbine components and towers for the wind energy sector.

This is the 18th year that NAWBO Houston has given this award to a local woman business owner who has demonstrated excellence as a business owner, shown initiative and creativity in overcoming obstacles in her business, has civic and community involvement and professional accomplishments and contributions. This award is not about the size of the business, but about the passion of the woman running the business. NAWBO Houston takes pride in the fact that this is the only award given to women business owners by women business owners.

In addition to this recognition, Susan was also interviewed by Fox News following the gala to talk about her success as a woman in a male-dominated industry. In response to a question which asked Susan for advice for other women business owners, Susan said during the interview; “The number one thing is commitment to putting in the hours even when things aren’t going well and just putting one foot in front of the other and trusting yourself.” Susan has been putting one foot in front of the other all over the world in fact. Her commitment to her customers has taken her to countries on nearly every continent, including such extraordinary places as China, Brazil, Indonesia, and much of Europe.
